Yacht Sailing and Kite surfing, Brazil, South America
Your note
Brazil is a perfect location for sailing and kitesurfing as it offers ideal wind and weather conditions for these sports all year through.
Ilhabela island has the wind, waves and infrastructure for any wind on watersport.
Yacht sailing, board sailing, (and more recently) kite surfing are particularly popular here. Ilhabela is a heavenly island thick with rainforest and lined with white-sand beaches. This area of eastern coastline is completely undeveloped.
You can also find a large number of popular kite surfing spots in Brazil near Fortaleza, such as Cumbuco, Paracuru or Prea. The state of Ceara offers you 600 km of white sandy beaches with mostly side-onshore trade winds, with steady sea-breezes in the afternoon.
One of the newest locations for kitesurfing in Brazil is the picturesque village of Uruau, about 60 miles (100 km) from Fortaleza. There are various kitesurfing spots like a lake and a lagoon and, of course, there is the seashore with its beautiful deserted beaches.
