Brazilian music is famous all over the world for its contagious rhythms, which come from a mixture of regional talents and foreign influences. It represents all the fun and flavour of Brazilian people.

Music is an integral part of everyday life here. You'll here and see it; on the streets; in the bars; at home and in the many religious parties.

Brazil's most famous festival (carnival in Rio) is directly connected to music. It’s the samba music that drives thousands of dancers, filled with pride and joy, to jump and sing on the grandstands, parading on the Marques de Sapucai Avenue.

It's the same in Salvador, Recife and Olinda. The music drives huge (joyous) crowds through the streets dancing to the sounds of the trucks carrying PA systems.

Brazilian music also plays an important role in religious celebrations. One of the best examples is probably the singing during the procession of the "Cirio de Nazare" celebration, in the city of Belem.
