Ilha de Tinharé is a pretty little island off the coast of Salvador. The coastline here is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Brazil.

In the surrounding beaches (Ondina and Rio Vermelho) you'll find Salvador's most expensive resort hotels. If you’re looking for good bars that play excellent music head off to nearby Rio Vermelho.

If you go north along the Orla Marítima, you'll find many restaurants beside the white sandy beaches. Going further north, you'll come to the Lagoa de Abaeté, a spectacular black freshwater lagoon.
