This is one of the most untouched beauty spots in the whole of the country. If you want to escape from the crowds and noise of Rio, this is the perfect place.

The Costa Verde (Green Coast) is located along the 175 mile stretch of coast between Rio and Sao Paulo. It's incredibly scenic, with tropical forests spreading down to the ocean, wide-open bays, golden sandy beaches and some picturesque fishing villages.

Finding a place to stay here is normally quite easy. There are some fine hotels and villas as well as some excellent restaurants and trendy clubs. Angra dos Reis (King's Cove) is the best beach in the area.
